Can anyone give me some good advise, i have a 2005 fxd, 39mm front end ,i had a 3deg raked front end with supposedly 2" over forks to compensate for the rake ,iv,e had nothing but handling issues for 3 years .I have just sold it and bought a early 39mm wideglide set of trees 1995 i think? ,my earlier kit the forks pushed through the top of the top tree but this set screws onto the threaded nut below the top tree ,same as many softails, road kings, etc, which has raised the front end 1-2". I bought a set of std fork legs off a 94 fxds thinking they would be 2" shorter ,but they are only 1/2 " shorter than my 2" overs. Can anyone let me no if 2005 dyna std fork legs are shorter than 94 dyna std legs .The reason i ask is the bike is brilliant in a straight line 200ks + no wobble at all but cornering at any speed it wants to keep falling into the corner ,the bike sits 1-2" higher than it used to and i think thats affecting the cornering .Any advice would be welcome ,am i better getting a set of legs 1-2" shorter or what , Cheers Speed

The symptons you have more sound like the steering head bearings. Have you jacked the front up and turned the front end from lock to lock? You will probably find its notchy which will cause exactly what you are experiencing. I have the same config front end as yours on a 94 FXDL, no problems at all.
