hi, if it's the 40 mm smooth bore flatslide carb for the harley they are a good carb , it should have the cable wheel on 1 side ' with a short idle cable adj under the body ? idle jet 17.5 m.m. idle air bleed 0.9 m.m., main jet about 1,75 -1.80 m.m. you can play with the main tube & main air bleed but if you don't know how don't i have jet's & K&N air cleaners in stock for this model carb,
people through them out for a 42 m.m. & i collect them as i like these carb's & can get them working good the slide can rattle @ idle if it's worn but when on the throttle it will be good as the gate is open & no suckion on the gate @ idle , no worries
stock idle air bleed is 1.1 m.m. & is too lean if yougo to a 2.0m.m. idle jet it;s too rich , i wish i was too - rich
Well there you go while I was thinking about buying the Mikuni carb someone else actually paid the $100 for it and I am still looking, so it might end up being a CV off a 96 fatboy if nothing else turns up
