Gooday all-lookin at the 2012 Superglide Custom-seems a absolute bargain at $22k on the road with ABS and security system. Does any one own own? What are they like? The local dealer tells me the 96ci motor is about as powerful as a 80ci evo unless dollars are spent on it for exhaust/filter andd SE module-this I find a little hard to believe.

Currently own a 98 Road King but prior to that a  09 Sportster-miss the sweet handeling of the Sporty.

    Cheers--Dan

I'd love to tell ya... I was signed up on one early december, but due to a lack of availability - my dealer found me a gloss black Streetbob...same same, but different.

I bought the exhaust / filter / se module - should be taking delivery this week.

I saw a two tone Superglide that was already sold at the dealer, and they're a great looking sled!

    Mate,

Your dealer is full of shit if they are feeding you that rubbish about the 80 ci vs 96 ci.

I dont care who you are....... whether evo or twin cam, both of them needed 'help' to realise their true potential. By help I mean a race tuner, pipes and air intake at the least.

But you are right about one thing though, the 2012 Superglide Custom really is good buying at the revised price. They used to be 25K give or take, so if you like it, get one while the goings good.

^ And one more thing.... shop around for the pipes, tuner, and air cleaner. Some of the Harley dealers out there are price rapists.

I bought one , first Harley , and I love it . Have ridden everything over the years , and 96ci is fine . Cruises at 140 all day long , and has plenty of go . S & S slip ons with the exhaust flapper permanently fixed open (electronically ) . When looking at catalogue , with 103 ci motors in rest of range , I wondered , but 96 is good .

Thanks for the responses fellas-I'll wait to see what the new year brings-absolutley love the two tone red Superglide Custom. yes its easy to believe everything a dealer tells you when you are starry eyed lookeing at new harleys. in retrospect i guess my local dealer was comparing my 80ci evo that is tuned with pipes etc to a stock 96er. However it does shit me that to get the harley sound you have to fork so much out now on new bikes. When I bought my 883 Custom, the bloody SE "race tuner" cost more than the pipes and air filter. A freind of mine bought a near new Nightster from a non-authorised dealer and the race tuner was never handed over(he didnt relise at the time). When he went to trade the Nightster in on a new Softail-the dealer lowerd the trade in by $1000 because the race tuner was missing----pretty fucked eh?

Cheers guys--the Dyna Custon certainly looks a gorgeous bike. far better than the old Dynas with skinny front ends.
