Internal handlebar wires

Im about to get my stock bars off and fit a new set of chubby drag bars, with internal wireing.

Whats the best way to run the wires internaly?

Should I cut the stock wires, under the tank and near the plug,so i can thread the wires into bars easily and back down, then solder up again.

Or should I remove each pin, at the plug, then thread these through bars and back down into their plug sockets.

Has anyone got any tricks that they want to share when fitting stock control wires through aftermarket handlebars?

Keep in mind that my new bars will use my stock cables and control wires.

If ya don't need any more length, as it sounds by your description, it would be a neater job and (more proffessional) if you de-pinned at the plug.

Same amount of effort and cleaner than cutting and re-joining.

Not that many tricks, just run as many pull throughs as you think you'll need if not all at once. Quick squirt of CRC, RP7 or the like down the inside of the bars just before you start ain't gunna hurt either. With chubbies you shouldn't have any problems.

Thanks everyone for your input,I changed my stock bars over to drag bars and ran wires internaly by de pinning plugs and also changed grips, mirrors and handlebar controls tab covers from stock to chrome and it looks a treat.

I found this job to be very easy so anyone game enough to do this job themselves and save about $350, then I highly recommend giveing it a go.

That's good advice cps, I actually used nylon string and used a vaccum to suck it through the riser end of bars.I found this was a very easy way to start the internal wireing exercise.
