The new raceway at Proserpine will open for business with a bang on December 4 this year. Festivities will include Chris Vermeulen in action, QLD moto champ Ross Taylor, drift cars, karts, static displays of old and rare cars and bikes plus a jumping castle for the kiddies. I believe there will be some racing action, too.

There is to be a licensed bar, food and soft drinks.

Oh yeah, the opening of the track was a goodie, the local mayor,Mr Mike Brunker cutting the chequered ribbon to officially open the track. Then Chris Vermuellen doing the first lap of honor on a Suzuki rd racer. In the wet!! Showers on and off out there,but everybody was all fired up. A couple of drift cars,go karts, Motard bikes,vintage cars /bikes, yeah, good stuff. Now we don't have to ride/drive for hrs to see that sought of racing. Plus the Airport (Proserpine) is only a coupla hundred metres further down the rd.  It's out in the middle of nowhere but less than 15 mins to Prossy and under 1/2 hr to Airlie Beach,cool.   Took my daughters camera but it fucked up,again,so no pics.   Didn't take me phone either,which would have done the job good enough. Next time.        

LOL ...by the time i had my rant above....half a dozen or so posts were made, just when we were gettin back on topic, ah well, ya get that on these big job's lol.

What is the track being used for. Is it big

Dont know the length but you can see anything go all the way round. Its flat and will be aimed at go karts,drifters (at the opening anyway) Motard/SuperMotard ,cars and thats about it. The main straight(Pit?) would be about 400m long. I think there will be a big influx of go karts. The track is right next to the moto X track, which is cool. More stuff for the kids round here to do,which is the best thing about it. A lot of hard work over the yrs by volunteers to get it finished. Its on the rd that goes to Proserpine airport,about a 1k off the Bruce Hwy. I'm tossing the idea about racing something oldish in the Masters class. Ha,the brain says yes and the body no!  Yeah, 1929 J with slicks in the Motard Yeah Yeah.........And HD racing colours Yeah...  The Wrecking Crew re-surfaces! Fuck yeah............ Yeah right.                                                 Realistically, some slicks on a postie bike,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Not a big track ,but big enough. WTF.      PS: When races start happening , some Forumites can come up "this end of town"   Which is Jan or Feb next yr
