Does anyone know if its ok to use compressed air to dry a K&N filter after you wash it ?? I only ask because I think I read somewhere that it was not ??

What's with the K&N filters,my 2003 Softail had a washable filter element, but the new one has a paper throwaway jobby. What's the deal, anyone know. I have'nt given away my K&N filter cleaning kit yet, in the hope that I can change to a washable filter again.
