Im thinking of getting a cobra auto tune system, no need for a mechanic, you just plug it in, no downloads, no maps, no dyno. it automatically tunes the bike for whatever pipes, air cleaner etc. if you add cams, do any engine work etc.

Does anyone have any feed back on the system????

The referenced article is from cobra engineering, its not an independent review.

There were a few that had problems with them when they first came out, $500 is lots of coin for what basically a $150 fuelpack does... or a $100 XiED but I exaggerate. Just have a problem with a marketing blurb being taken that seriously. Where are the face offs??? If it was so great I'm sure Cobra would have had a few to advertise.

The marketing blurb sounds like.. well just that marketing. Its one of those systems that tricks the ECU into doing something else and doesn't do timing very well... but in the right hands just about any name brand tuner can be made to work great... compared to what comes from the factory.

The stock ECU does all those things mentioned, including auto tune, BTW.

    I'm a skeptic by nature....

    Fuelmoto has said the following:

"While the Cobra unit uses some interesting technology, simply put the product lacks features that are necessary to provide a proper tune for most combinations as it lacks key fundamentals required for proper EFI tuning. It cannot adjust ignition timing and only makes fuel adjustments based on rate of acceleration. Any kind of major modification such as a big bore would be way outside of the limitations of the products ability to deliver the correct mixture, the fact that it cannot adjust ignition timing (or other parameters) severely limits it's usefulness right from the start, not to mention start up or idle fuel reqirements just to name a few. There are way better products on the market, many for far less money."

Just saying you can't believe all you read in a marketing blurb..

Well I bought one recently for $520 delivered to my door in 7 days.
I had pipes and intake and wanted a better tuner.
It took about 30mins to install. Straight away it ran better than stock, totally eliminated the popping on decelleration, engine runs cooler and smoother .
But.... I wanted to improve the oiling system (showing signs of wet sumping) so I put Feuling HP+ oil pump and camplate and thought while im there i'll try a set of fueling 525 cams. As it says on the box It started straight away and auto tuned itself but it has no custom tunability timing/idle etc..
I have plans in the near future to put a big bore 95" kit and up the compression to 10:1. I think if i keep this tuner i will be sacrificing a bit of power due to not being able to adjust the timing in particular.
Might go a thundermax or something...
the beauty of the cobra auto tune is that you can change components on your bike in the shed and just ride away without requiring a tune which suits most modders.
    My thoughs.

Steve send your interface back to TTS and Steve Cole will flash the unit for a second bike. cost $200. If your buying a 2011 softail or a 2012 dyna ring Steve first.

Don't do that mate. The problem is the guys looking for a tuner get the wrong idea about the TTS when they read our threads regarding some of us guys fucking around trying to get every bit out of our highly modified engines when home tuning. Most people start out thinking they will be happy with a SE stage one kit and don't need after good tuner. After warranty runs out they add aftermarket cams then heads etc. When they get to this stage there tuners can't cope with the engine mods and then they need to invest in another tuner. We have been down this road and learnt the hard way having owned the good and bad tuners. Hang in there mate some people have to learn the hard way like us. Robo start a thread about the TTS and how happy you are with it and other owners can add our thoughts on how easy or hard it is to use.

Nothing worse than pulling out to pass a Bdouble or a road train on a tight and twisty road then madly kicking back gears and nothing is happening fast. Ha Ha 103 with heads, cams and throttle body makes very short work of it with out peddling back through the gears.

I had my first service today of my 103 2012 Dyna Fatbob, with Vince & hines big radues and hypercharger.

Thanks to the boys at Harley Heaven Dandenong they through in a no charge DynoJet Dyno tune becouse its the first Cobra tuner they have seen and we all wanted to know how the Cobra shaped up on a dyno test.

I dont have a scanner so you will just have to trust these figers.

    HP 74.51 and Torq 93.29.

I was told its running rich , which I already new and was told Its running on a par with a 96cui Softtail ( slighty hotter cam than a dyna) with AC/pips ( stage one upgrade) on a SE race tuner.

The 103 motor throughs out higher Torq,,,,,,, Hp would go up if I added cams.

Im very happy with this plug and play turner and the bike runs very well with lots of torque.

Theres the odd bit of desel poping everynow and agian mainly on hotter days, we put that down to the V& H pips which are known as a very poppy pip anyway,, was told you'll never get that out even on a ajustable tuner.

Thanks for the info update, been waiting for someone to post some info on this tuner, being looking at basic plug & play tuners for a

while. Done pipes & air mods, just looking for the easiest & simplest  tuner, dont need all the bells & whistles, no further engines mods planned.

Looks likes a toss up between cobra & V&H fuel pak.

Fuck me, I think I have been away from the game far too long, reading what you guys wrote I felt like I am on another planet. It was so much simpler when we only had S&S, SU, Eleminator, & Makuni (f your that way inclined) carbs, etc,

Thundrmax, Cobra, Maps, Fuel paks TV3, TTS Master tune, plug & play, Carrying a Laptop to tune your bike? What sort of Martian language are you guys talking about, & has anyone thought of writing an article so the rest of us old-timers can read, understand & catch up to you young guys? Hilly has got it right when he states: We have a failure to communicate!
