G'day boys.  Went and had a look at a 1996 model  heritage softail springer tonight.  Bike is 2nd owner and in very good nik with 35 ks on the clock. Bike is stock standard except for pipes and beach bars.   The bloke doesn't really know what it is worth and either do I.  What do you guys reckons its worth.

Springers handle nice. might be looking at $18-21k ish depending on condition.

sounds in the right range. If you are happy with the condition and its what you want, making sure it is a real 35K kms... (rubbers on pegs etc may tell?)

Show him the Red Book price and say that is all they are worth. You might be lucky. All the money you save can go back into the bike if you want it to, or on riding gear.

Believe it or not I actually don't really think this bloke knows how much the bike is worth. The bike wasn't even for sale. The bloke works for my mate and he remembered that he had a HD in the garage which he hardley ever used. My mate rang and asked him if he wanted to sell it and we went from there. But suprisingly now he reckons its work about $21,500 (after doing his own research with his mates ). I reminded him of the red book price and he didnt really say much either way. To be honest bike is very genuine but cant really justify that money for a 14 year old bike. Can't really find much at all on 96 heritage softail springer. The owner told me that this bike was 1 of only 200 in Aus. (this is what previous owner told him) Does anyone out there know about this model or able to point me in the right direction to find out.
