Not sure about VIc rego papers, but make sure that you have signed the transfer of rego (application for transfer of rego) over to the purchaser & lodged the paperwork the Vicroads - you don't want any nasty surprises from Mr Plod (traffic violations) generated by the purchaser.

You have to provide a certificate of roadworthiness to the purchaser (I'm not sure if this only applies to transfers within Vic) otherwise it is up to the purchaser to get the necessary checks done in Canberra to transfer rego over!

Check the Vicroads website for transferring rego requirements - its the purchasers responsibility and dollar outlay to get it done his/her end!

    Hope this helps!!

I live in ACT and used to be involved in processing rego transfers.

Sign off the Victorian transfer papers and send your bit to VicRoads and give the rest to your buyer.

You can organise a Victorian roadworthy certificate if you like to show your buyer it is roadworthy to help with the sale, but it won't be accepted here. Your buyer will need to obtain an ACT roadworthy when he gets the bike up here.

As the vehicle will be transferring from another state and in another name, your buyer will also need to book with ACT RTA for an identification check, where they confirm it's not a rebirth.

The buyer will then be able to pay the rego and CTP at the Govt Shopfront (All ACT CTPs are through NRMA and paid with the rego direct to the RTA).

    Hope that clears it up?
