    G'day,

I have an 08 RKC with Heritage bars fitted. My problem is with my buggered shoulders and elbows I need a substantial increase in pullback even now. The 08 has fly by wire throttle.

Does anyone have a practical solution in alternative bars?

I to am looking at about 2 inches up, and 2 inches back from the standard (2011 Road King) Bars. The shop told me 14 inch Apehangers. They would also need a wiring and brake line upgrade, quite expensive so I am trying to get used to the standard one

Yeah Ron, I have that much already with the Heritage bars but like the actress said, "I want more". Cost me cuppla hundred bucks for the parts to upgrade to that setup.

I've got 12" apes - heaps more pullback & rise than standard. No need to change brake lines, extended wiring myself, clutch is a bit short but you can get away with it.
If you prefer the chubby roadking bars pinhead mentioned (standard on the 08 SE roadking) send me a PM. I have a pair I'm not using including the 2" clamps - cheap or swap for WHY.

Hmmm.....might have a serious look at some 12" apes then. Not over keen on the look of the chubbies. Thanks for the offer stumbly.

I just purchased an '03 Roadking complete with 12" riser bars and braided stainless cables. I've just started returning everything back to standard, so have available the bars and all the assoc. cables ie cluch, brake line and throttle  (all braided stainless ). If you've got a use for them just let me know.

Hey Spook, still mid way through the conversion, all I have laying on the floor are the bars, ask me again after the weekend. The deal is......I'm happy to help & you pay the postage for whatever I send over. (I'm in Melbourne). When I've worked out how to navigate around this site I'll have my mobile no. listed and you can just give me ring to organize things, until then you can just reply through this site.

Hey Spook, still playing, as off now I have the bars, throttle cables and the brake line ( goes from the master cyl. to the manifold ). I think the clutch cable will probably do my head in 'cause I have to remove the exhaust frst. But I can send what I got for now or you can wait till I get the clutch done. Cheeers

I've got an '11 Road King and getting 12" chubby black apes put on Tuesday. Tried out the bars for fit this morning and should give me enough pullback for the long hual rides - I ride Melb to Sydney and back once a quarter for work. I would have loved to do it myself, but don't have the skills...

Hey Spook, buggered if I know how this site works.. Got an email to say you've sent me a msg, but I can't find it. I guess you're getting a little concerned about ever getting my bits.......I'm having too much fun riding it to actually work on it, even though I have to wrap the extra long clutch cable around the crash bar.  (lol) I can't believe this shit has gone on for this long, out of guilt I rang the local harley fix-it man to see if he'd do it, he quoted 5 hrs to change the cable, so I'm going to do it on the week-end (promise). If you like I'll post the other stuff now if can send me your address. Contact me on 0429948002
