I can remember someone posting about this before but cant find post.

Here goes anyway. 48 not returning to idle (worse with some fuel more than others).

Anybody with ideas would be appreciated (or a better memory)

Have you fitted new bars recently?

Do you give the throttle a rev as you turn the engeine off? If so it will idle higher next time you turn it on (efi sportie models)

No new bars or rev when i turn off. Im pretty sure that it is the same issue that i can remember
someone else having & they fixed it by removing & cleaning a jet or valve of some sort located around
air intake.Memory not much good (treated brain like an amusement park for too long)

Could be the throttle friction screw. It sits under the throttle, and can get sticky, stopping the bike from returning to idle. Try backing it off half a turn. Also try a light squirt of silicon lube on the throttle assembly. Try the simple things first...TC

Yeah checked all that out, cable is loose at throttle body when in return position. Also it only seems to do it when engine is
warm-hot on a cold start its fine.

Just checked plugs. Grey on electrode nice n dark around circle bit.(lol)Looks like running good overall but cant really say if lean at idle.Seems to be intermittant for example today was fine. Thinking maybe a bit lean because today very humid therefore air would be thicker?????

    What tuner are you running?

Didnt buy tuner because i would only fiddle with it all the time, but was tuned with screamin eagle from new when pipes & intake installed. Just checked altitude where i am (290m) above sea level & bike was tuned at fairymeadow which is more or less at sea level,so maybe thats the problem, also weather starting to warm up so problem more pronounced.(???????)

Could be the IAC motor on the throttle body.

You did say that you have a 48 correct me if I am wrong but your bike should still be under warranty, take it back to the stealer.

    What is an IAC motor?

Bit of an explanation below..........our mechanic told us when using high flow aircleaners they can get worn and a simple fix is to replace them (not sure if this is correct but worked okay)

IAC - Idle Air Control - An electric valve that's threaded, one turn of the valve is called a "step." It's controlled by output signals from the ECM to open and close as needed to allow enough air into the engine for starting and idle operation. (Throttle closed) The more steps, the greater the amount of air enters the engine through the IAC passages. It's that ugly looking black thing you can see just inside and over the top of the air cleaner.
