So, this is the Gold Coast Bike week replacement?

Completely different events & that news bulletin is also from 2009.
The one mentioned fell flat on it's arse before it even got off the ground.

 

A day pass is $40 to walk around the displays. It better be good:

Entrant Fees:    On-line tickets before 13th Jan 2012 $120 per person
     Tickets after 13th Jan 2012   $160 per person
     Entrant camping     $40 per person
     Saturday Night Drags    $20 per person

Spectator Admission:  4 Day pass with camping    $120 per person
     3 Day pass, no camping   $80 per person
     Individual Day pass    $40 per person
     Kids under 12 free

I've had time to think about this one.. and as I like to try and support all things to do with Bikes, Hot Rods and Kustom Kulture..!? I think this thread could be of good use.. to the promoters to get feedback on their current planning... so I'll let them know this thread exists.. and what they choose to do with that information.. is up to them..????

For starters the Name is off.
Speedweek is generally the title of the saltlake run in Utah .
Speedweek in Aussie has been the title of the DLRA for 20+ years ,now it has been taken over by these blokes.Along with that SBS show.

Good one on the Org for having a go but if it is anything like the old bikeweek sanitised it sounds like rubbish to me.

Apparently the "Biggest event of the year" has already been critiqued without even being run.!
In the past with bikeweek it was $30? for the day to listen to a band who's best noise was feedback then a run an eye over some chequebook choppers plus a few stalls
That kind of trumped up rubbish leaves me a little flat.
Now it's $40 NO BEER and a stuck up attitude restricting clubs and generally typical old school riders by the looks of it.??
Has the Org done the H4H workshop on self promotion ?
Oh yeah near forgot.A week is 7 days not 4,really it looks like only 3 as Thursday has nothing on..
The only pass I will be taking on , Is a large pass on it.

Thanks for your feedback, it is always welcome and helps build a better event for everybody.

A few points that you are questioning I will help answer and clear up,

We are not Bikeweek , we have no association with anyone from that event, we are aiming to bring an event like no other.

Unfortunately no alcohol was a decision that had to be made, this is a motorsport event and insurance allows 0.00 blood alcohol limit, the other side of the coin is crowd control, with minimum of 2000 campers adding alcohol will turn this event bad like a lot of other big named events in the past.

We welcome any individual, club or group to our event, we are aiming this event to people of all ages. We are catering for all types of bikes also, USA, British, Vintage, MotoX, Road bikes, Choppers, Drag, you name it, its welcome.

We have priced our event to give everyone great value for money, there will be plenty of events and always something happening throughout the weekend.
To list some of the events that have been confirmed,

Dirt Drags
Spear the spud
Burnouts
Catch the Snag   
Slow Race
Go to Whoa
Push the Keg
Corn Eating Comp
Drag Racing
Show and shine – Judged by Chris Anderson and others

And other entertainment includes

4 Live bands – we are auditioning these guys at the moment and we’re sure guys will be happy with them
Stunt bike show
FMX Show
Fireworks
Amusement rides for young and old

Our website will be updated as more things are confirmed, at the moment we are working round the clock because as you can see, it is a MASSIVE event.
Along with all the entertainment we’re also busy pulling together as many trade vendors as possible to build the ultimate bike supermarket at our event.

Good ole 'insurance' has everyone by the nuts so I see ya point on that one. I reckon I'll lob up for one day at least.

if shifters judging the bikes had better be good i know him well lived near an we swapped parts ect when needed hope he got few bikes in as they be hard to beat .
think ya prices bit high especially for those travelling could cost upto 120 just for the day an a visit to the drags ?????
hope the filth back off cause most times they fuck a good show with their bullshit

after a few yrs he sold it to the owner of ami in brissy then it got stopped mainly due to the filth

im wondering if neil has got anything to do with it neil being owner of ami ..
i dont think maverick is organiseing it but he may be helping in the background but fucknose who is runnin it pretty hush hush i think if i was stickin my neck out an layin down the bucks to get it goin id make sure ppl knew who i was so they could give feed back personally
neils a good bloke but the prices of this shindig are over the top most are finding it hard as it is with bills ect an with chrissy only few weeks away not great time to start advertising it maybe beginning sept wouldve given ppl time to stash some bucks away an make time for holidays
i got few bikes here id love to put in the show thingy but it not worth me spending over 500 buks just to get there an in the gate on top that got food drinks condoms lol an then my sons would want to go

are kids under 15 free
are pensions free or get discount
at most club shows ect they are

Was hoping to get to this but realised today its the same weekend as bello, maybe next year.
