Fuck yeah, had one too! A Malvern Star Dragstar (Ha, Rocker?) I took the front forks off me mums 28" bike and put them on, mono's everywhere. The frame cracked at the base near the pedal crank. Angle of the dangle and all that. Yeah memories. They were brought out just after Easyrider come out. Done some miles on it. (So did me dog) OOPS, off subject again.
Yeah KC, should be a good build off. Snr would have to do a lot more this time round, instead of a motor from outside, fully assembled, and bolted into their "Shabby Chic" designed/styled bikes. American Chopper was good in the early yrs,but become too off subject. Bring the showdown on,I'm ready. Ha! Maybe a showdown between Snr and Jesse in the ring.
Yeah, sounds about right. But even in jest for the camera's,I wouldn't call me boy an arsehole. But still, their laughing all the way to the bank no matter what they do. Mmmmm, but then again, I think I'd call me boy worse though, for say, 1/2 mil $? Then split it with him
Just watched part 1. Out of the three bikes I liked two of them. The third one's totaly off the planet (in a bad way). Be interesting to see tomorrow's episode. The winner is already in, but I won't spoil it.
James' bike was the only one I would like to own or ride. Jnr's bike looked the most impressive. You have to hand it to them fo that tank, that looked pretty cool. But the bike overall was the typical unridable art project they specialise in. OCC's "bike" was bloody ridiculous. I can't believe with free reign to come up with anything they wanted to, they came up with that. I shook my head. After building that, they need to take "choppers" out of their name and call themselves "Orange County Monstrocities".
In the Promo's Jesse James said that he wasn't going to build a CFL, Well that looks like a CFL to me.,,, Shame
Was it a "bike building' competition or a surrealist art project ? Sure Juniors had some good craftmanship in it but fucking useless as a bike. How much of a twat would you feel riding around town on that ?!. Granted Jesse's bike wasnt anything outragious, but thats a good thing. He built a 'bike' that you could ride. And a fucking nice looking one to. He could of built some wierd ass thing but purposely made a bike that was a bike you can use. Id give my left nut for that bike. Senior knew he wasnt going to win because it is a popularity contest so he made that thing to take the piss. Good on him. Stoopid contest, but jesse wins for me.
your missing the point ,,,,,,,,,,,, The only Point is Entertanment,,,,,,,,,,,, SUCKERS
In all fairness (and for credibility sakes) the 'build bikes' MUST be rideable. If it's too low or too long or generally unfunctional beyond a trip from the bike trailer to the stage, then what's the f*ckin' point? These blokes all have the skills to build a kick-arse RIDEABLE creation so let's get back to basics.
I like the big ride associated with the 'Biker build-off' series; remember how they'd meet up with the 'Chopper King' after the build and head off on a ride across three State lines to the judging show? Now that's what a 'build bike' should be capable of. Anything less makes 'em good only for book ends. Chromed dust collecting book ends.
.
In the clip where Senior's OCC crew first sit around looking at the concept drawing of that flame throwing tracked thing(???), Rick makes the statement, "Is it technically a bike?" That said it all for me...
I couldn't get my head around that thing. It's a fair old engineering marvel I s'pose and I'll bet it's pure fun, but I was seriously hoping for three of the best BIKES possible. And if there's any truth to the rumours about OCC being in the shit, then there went a great marketing opportunity for OCC to show the Biker public what they're capable of.
If my business was in strife I'd use the TV time to showcase a quality product, not waste time being 'zany' or 'different'. OCC should get back ta basics. Maybe Senior loves that camera too much?
