Moody Blues Precious Cargo Tour 2011 Last night we ventured up to the State Theatre in Sydney to attend the Moody Blues concert. We purchased our tickets several months ago as I have always wanted to see this band perform after hearing their music throughout the years also in my youth. As time has gone on these guys from the Moody Blues have become much older than there original days but I amazed at how good they are in their winter years.
Justin Hayward is the consumate professional in every respect, and does what he does best every time. No big egos on stage - just professional musicians giving their best to the fans who have followed them for 40 years. Justin does not say much, but he does not have to, the music does it for him. This is the way the group has always operated - if you look back at their early concerts.
Nights in White Satin was simply magic, and Justin's voice carried true on every note. Simply magical !!! I hope they come back again.
From a musical prospective they can still play very well, also they still have great vocals for men of their years. It’s amazing how much these guys have done when your consider the drummer just celebrated his 70th birthday just recently, also as they bashed out the tunes from their catalogue of vast hits you just sit their and think about years gone by hearing them on the radio. As you look around the crowd and in the foyer there were many people in there who would be pensioners also varied ages as well. All in all we had a great time, it was really worth every dollar to seem them perform their songs……..
