Hate to spam a thread, but I asked him how to package it (since I live a few hours away) and he tell's me they'll just have someone to pick it up if I'd like.... I've never won lotto (more than $30), but I'm pretty sure this feeling is close to winning the big one :P

Glad you had a good responce Bonkers, I too am in need of a new one & have been doing some research ,,Deka EXT20L only has an 17.5 ah & 270 cca which seems a little under powered for a Harley . Think I will go  at least a EXT30 it has 325 cca ( cold cranking amps } or even bigger , depending on price ,good luck with the exchange

Just took an SSB HVT2 out of mine. Been there for 8 years. I keep a battery tender hooked up when not riding.

black oem battery from harley for a evo is about $155.00 a a few mates brought deca white ones from battery world as a bulk deal and thay wear about $70.00 more . $155 for a battery that is glass mat matenence free is good for me

Just replaced my battery after getting 7 yrs life out of the original HD one from new, PHD charged $182.95 for the newey.Considering the time since this last posting, not a big hike in the price IMO.

I just bought a new HD 66010-97C for my street glide from Horsham Harley. Asked for a good price and was told $240.70 was the best they could do. It didn't seem that good but bought it because I needed it. After I paid for it he says "it'll need a charge as it's a bit low". I check with my multimeter and it was @12.1 volts which on harleys spec sheet means it's at about 30% charge. Nice for them to sell nearly flat batteries.....

Another here that also uses SSB, well priced and a decent battery,
have used them on a few bikes and never had a problem.
Ones in the Springer now, after the HD one cried enough.
