What's the best brand battery for a Harley and who has the longest warranty?

My first one lasted 3 years, the second a bit over a year. Both Harley branded.

I always buy Exide for the car, 4WD and boat as they last a shit load longer than any other I've tried and they're warranty is 2 years regardless of the battery being a deep cycle or not.

    Your thoughts........

(probably been covered before but I'm a lazty prick and hate the search function!)

I have an Odyssey battery in mine, It was a bit pricey at $280 bucks but 5 years on it still starts the bike no matter how long between rides.

DEKA ( they make the OEM Harley battery anyways !!)

Buy them from Autospark etc close to yer home.

And WAY cheaper than a "Gennyoowine" HD replacement.

No fuggin' about to fit...( unlike the Odyssey)

I'm not sure if this is a silly question about these but here goes.

If you were to purchase a battery from the US would it get through our customs?

Also if any battery does make it through customs and you were to install it in your bike, and low and behold it exploded or was found to have caused a fire, would this also void your insurance policy in regards to Australian compliance?

Any information on this would be greatful.

I'm looking to purchase a new battery as well

Thanks for those Will67 It's much appreciated.

Bangkok Bob, I cant believe I didn't think of your suggestion earlier.

Who would have thought you could buy a battery from a battery store.

It's intelligent input like this that makes you a really valuable member to this forum.

Is there any chance you could point me in the direction of a new radiator for my 08 Fatboy? I always like to pick a really clever mind!!!!!!

Last time I went to replace a battery late in 2015 , it was the original stock OEM in a 2009 Dyna

THIS TIME the HD dealer was CHEAPER than a Deka

And as it was "during the working day and during the week" it made sense to get the HD branded battery ( made by Deka anyways as previously said )

Saturday arvo / late weeknight evening / Sunday , Deka would still be the go , retailers available for longer hours than HD dealers, ( and maybe closer to you as well !)

At 7 years up , your battery is past it's best. I would have a newie trickle charging at home for "Justin", ( Just in case !!)

Just recently changed my battery, went with a lead acid SSB Powersport from ebay seller 4wxExtreme, 300cca I think, $95 delivered

You pour acid in then press on cap strip, seems to be working fine, i vented for a couple of hours then trickle charged it for 24hr

Size was very close to HD, just check if any bolts protrude in battery holder as i had to shave a few mm off one so it slid in

Just make sure it has - and + on right side

the HD battery is an agm lead acid 275cca, just filled at the factory and sent out, plugs put in at the top just like a SSB Powersport AGM

i put a bit of tape on the top over the plugs just like the HD one too

the Deka hype is over the top, these are plain and simple lead-acid batteries,

Should be an interesting week for me. Bought a Deka ext20l (?) about 10 months ago and last week it starting hard starting. Changed plugs and checked leads and still doing it. Wacked on a multimeter and it's dropping to between 6-8 volts when turning over - which I'm told means it's on it's way out? So I've contacted batteriesdirect in Bendigo and we'll see what happens.
Is it normal to have a battery last only 10 months somettimes

So I emailed batteriesdirect.com.au and they replied within 5 minutes asking me to return it. I think I finally found a business I actually want to deal with
