    i like too muck-up now & then ,

i have done a few you ,  don't have too pull the heads just piss off that EPA  cam with a nice grunt early lobe centre  inlet with a race type late lobe centre exh type cam & nice exh system , aircleaner & tune etc,    the 96 c.i. motor is 1/8 " longer in the stroke than the  stock EVBT but with higher comp they are a good engine , e.g. i did a 09  roadking with already air cleaner & exh & tuner, S/E mufflers   .i only choose a beaut cam that fitted in without pulling the heads off  & modified the stock header pipe & took out the cat converter & polished inside the exh header before welding back up just a neat job on the cutting & welding with a bit of silver paint  the chrome cover cover up where your been,    bike looks  stock but had 89 hp with 94 ft t ,     from idle & pulled very good & smooth as down low ,     i did a lot of home work the find this cam  & fits in with no mod's even on the stock pushrods  ,    i just upgraded the inner cam bearings  to torrington & fitted new cam chain while i was in there even only  she was  12.000 klms old  chains are like any other part too be replaced when used

It's the single pin crank that creates the exhaust sound, however the higher idle speed on the later twin cams masks it.  Dropping the idle speed will bring it out , but will probably blow your donk with the oil pressure drop. They need an increased volume of oil circulating  to help keep them cool , compared to the 80" evo's for instance.   It's all in the mind...what you hear from the saddle and what it sounds like,  are two different things. Get someone to ride your bike up the street and it will sound  just like every other harley.

thanks for the advise fellas, if i lower the hot idle to the mid 900s would that damage anything with the reduced oil flow that would follow  even though it not being lowerd by much ?
