Hi All, has anyone seen or use the LED oil level/temp replacement for the dip stick. Are they a good idea or just a gimmick. I'm in  Central Qld. and it can get extreamly hot.  Thanks

Probably a bit of a gimmick but it looks god, I have one on my 2010 Fatboy Lo, find it handy to just press the button to check the temperature and also it shows the oil level. Also you don't have to get a rag out to check the level like the stock dipstick.

Tested it with my stock dipstick several times and its always the same level, this device has been on my bike for almost 2yrs and I have never replaced the battery.

Thanks Fat boy lo, Can you remember how much it cost, The i'am looking at is for a cvo softail for around 195 bucks, Like you i think it will make checking oil a lot easier.

yep good bit of lazy mans kit, had one for about a year now, very handy for temp and oil level (mine does use some).

Just keep an eye on the button, mine used to get stuck in occasionally when new, hence flattens battery (not that that was hard to change)....
