I reckon the FBob is a copy of the the Fat Boy, which I still prefer. Solid & tough with that big headlight up front, and the shape of the rear guard. Having said that, I have a warmed up Dyna and prefer them on the road over the Softys anyday.

....I'm feeling brave so I'll say it: to me the Fat Bob looks a bit like a Jap bike! Something about the twin headlights, slotted wheels & the exhaust.
I do like the tank emblem and rear shocks, a salute to former years.
To each his own and when all you can see is the tank between your legs, and the road coming at ya, it don't matter really!!

    : )

Can't find any info on fitting 16" ape hangers on my 2008 Fat Bob. This is the first info I found.  Can you remember what risers you used. Looks great.  Need more specifics on base width and such.

Would appreciate any information you can give.

I used standard Harley risers and clamp that come on most bikes, the bars on the black one and my blue one are the same, 1" 1/4 and 1" at the clamp, distance across the base from outside to outside is 370mm  and from end of grip to end of grip is 930mm, not sure how far they turn back.

Didn't have to lengthen the wiring as there was enough in the frame.

Clutch cable is 74" long and have fitted a few different branded ones but the Drag specialities one was the better fit.

Acdelerator cables were "Motion Pro" brand and I have some part numbers as there was 2 numbers on each packet, Throttle cable 48-772 or MP 66-0304, Idle cable 48-773 or MP 66-0305

Brake pipes were a stuff up as the guy I delt with in the states said he knew what was needed but the top pipe was the right lenght but the steel piece on the bottom was bent 180 deg out and the lower pipes could have been a little longer. A mate of mine up at Bundy got a set recently from Rollies in Brisbane and they were spot on. They were done in a black tinted but still clear braid, sounds weird but they look awesome and he was able to get all the cables and pipes that way, Rollies knew all about what he wanted and did it over the phone, all he needed to supply them was a few measurements.

Hope this helps you out a little.

Hi fella's, haven't posted for quite some time. To busy riding & tinkering with my 09 fat bob. A truly remarkable step up from my 07 fatboy, but each has its place.
I thank some of the forum members for advice re making dual heads lights both work and some suspension advice. Still need some more suspension help but lights good. I ended up ordering reflecter etc but could not get the connector at all any where. I cit the bulb housing with dremel tool and soldered connectors striaight to the bulbs ( a bit radical I know, also did spare set of bulbs), I then soldered additional wires and connectors, joined it all up, heat shrank the lot and it works perfectly. Been going with a hitch for around 2000k now. BUT MY ADVICE is buy the whole headlight, apparently it comes with the connectors, I did it the very hard way!

HELP I have put progessive 812's on the rear and standard length progressive springs on the front with 10 weight fork oil. I am not happy as yet, I thought I would get considerable improvement but it is hard up front and does not feel much better, if at all. Did the work myself, bit od a learning curve getting the oil right and getting the x#f% fork caps back on. Should I have got oversize or lesser weight oil? I did not go oversize as I did not want to raise the bike height.

Sorr,y have'nt put photo on yet will do so soon.

    Bli Bli Bandit,

What apes are these? I know you say 16", but what brand, model #, etc.

I think they make it the sharpest Fatbob that I have seen.

    Please let me know.

    THANKS!

I got them from www.hillcountrycustomcycles.com, am sure the bars are made by Mid Western, there was an issue with the brake pipe but as my bike was the 1st set they had sold for a Fat Bob I am sure they will have sorted it out by now. Good to deal with and did everyting they could at the time to resolve the brake pipe problem but in the end I modified it myself, have since changed them again to a set I got from Rollies part number ms37004. Go you hardest as the AU v's Us is awesome at the moment.

Here's some pics of my 2010 Fatbob, I pretty much love everything about the Bob. Still got a few bling items to get, but as you can see i'm not big on the chrome stuff, but I think there's enough to keep the lines clean.

I like the wider black trees (which I have put on to my street bob) and I like the dual front disc brakes.
Not a fan of fat front tyres or alloy wheels or the rear fender.
Still a Dyna so nice bike
