Hey Crasher, here is a few pic's of my new ride.
Bars are 16", clutch, brake and throttle cables are all braided and clear coated. Screamin eagle mufflers and air filter. Has a detachable sissy bar and rack.Goes in for some dyno time to have the race tuner installed on Thursday.
Picked it up Saturday 28th Dec, got a few hours in on it, started to rain, didn't stop for a week. Got it out last weekend and put 450k's on it.... First impressions, handles great but too soft in the front when you ask a little more of it.. Great torque for a stocker. Runs too hot. Screamin Eagle mufflers are a little quite but make the right noise when you up it, should keep the Qld police away. All round great bike. Will post my thoughts after the race tuner has been installed.
them der pipes look great with the black ends on them , are they the SE pipes ?
Hey Roadtrain, will keep in touch if I'm around we will meet up, if you are travelling through on the Bruce hwy then the Ettamogah Pub is the usual parking lot for most bikes. Cold beer and usually a little eye candy to observe while blowing the froth of one.
Bacamick, the pipes are Screamin Eagle, look great, a little quite at idle but bark when you get up it.
Has anyone fixed the Dual headlight so that both lights are on ? One bloke in Pommy land replaced the headlight setup wit 2, 4 inch lights with low/high beam, maybe they way to go.

G'day Pigiron, I have pulled the headlight apart and took the globes to the auto electrican on the day the rep from phillips was there and the rep told me that the globes are the same type that come in fog lights and as such are not available in dual fillament so that they can both work at once and have high and low beam
Hey Roadtrain, this looks like the answer to me so I will give it a go tomorow, beats coughin out $400 for a new light. Will lets you know the outcome once done. Thanks in advance.
RT
That set up will give you High and Low beam on at the same time, 1 light High beam and the other Low beam. and the high beam goes out on low beam if I am reading your digram correctly.
I would prefer both on high and both on low, so I may need to change the whole light set up.
Will ponder this some more.
Bob
Roadtrain, carried out the modification today and it works great, both on when on high beam and only one on low. Took about 20 minutes, easy job.
Thanks for the advice.
Hi picked up fatbob a month ago done 3000klm , love it , handles faultless, the best harley I"ve throwen in to corners & feels like it wants to go over further but heel & footpegs drag , even with 2" over forks .Took rivets out of mufflers & refitted my stainless homemade baffles .Fitted a thundermax , will modify headlihts tomorrow thanks to you guys.
Still pissed off with harley suspension, for the money you pay you would think they could give us suspension to handle Aussie roads not concrete freeways.
Mongrel, I had a whinge about the front suspension at 1st service and the dealer replaced the front fork oil with the screamin eagle oil, it made a huge difference and they did it as awarranty job.
Thanks Bli bli bandit . I've just about solved the front end problems . because of after market 2'' over forks , the bike shop won:t cover seals , oil etc... I"ve put heavier oil in forks & have been expermenting with various spacer lengths. Was surplied with a 50mm pvc spacer , found that to harsh , tried 23mm to soft , tried 36mm nearly right , so today I"ve fitted 30mm spacer , yet to go for a ride must be close to being A1 .Also made both headlights come on togeather at high beam , now I can see better to dodge those skippys.
If any one has had trouble with run on or no back pressure when decelerating with a thunder-max .I have a few settings that will solve problem.
