    Hi Guys

New to the forum thanks for having me..  I have recently purchased a 2012 Black denim Iron. I am very much in love with the bike and obviously want to do some mods asap. I am thinking V&H short shots, K&N filter cause i like to keep the original look. I also want to get the V&H fuel pack. I would love any feedback from people that have done these modifications. Also I have had a quote from M&M Cycles in the US for these items and the grand total has come to 1045 US including $176 freight. Do you pay GST on imports including freight or is the value of the items only taken into consideration. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey mate, welcome to the forum and congrats on a great bike!! I've got the V & H Staggered Short Shots, SE Racer Tuner and SE Heavy Breather. They'll all really good mods to start with an a reasonably inexpensive way to improve performance. M & M seems pretty reasonable, not too sure how much the Fuelpack is worth though? Might be worth doing a quick shop around to ensure you're getting a great deal. That being said there are plenty of blokes on this forum who regularly use M & M and swear by them.

With regard to GST, you will pay import tax for anything over $1000. If you can speak to the seller and get them to bring the 'total' cost under a grand!!

    Hope that helps

    Cheers

    Hey Guys,
By law, you are liable to pay 'import duty' on anything regardless of price.
They may only start looking if its over a k....i dunno, but thats the law.
You will then be charged gst on the cost of the items + frieght....it sucks.
The % of the duty depends on where the item is manufactured, not where it comes from. So to justify a lower import duty to customs you need proof of its origin of manufacture.
Now dont be put off by all this as I have never be hit with any duties and gst's for any of the stuff I have purchaced from the states.
I think that they have made the system so difficult for themselves, also with so much being imported since the explosion of online buying.....it would take years to process everything.
    Good luck and welcome.
