Thinking of grabbing a set of Progressive 430's in 12" to go on my '05 FXDX.

Anyone used them & know if they're good, bad or what?

Faaaaark, must have been some bump.
The bulk of my riding is 2up but the missus & i combined are about 140kg max (we're both pretty light)
Might have to look at the 440's.

Partner has the Progressive 430 series shocks on her Sporty she has done over 10,000ks on these shocks she hasn't had any problems. Cant say much for the HD stock shocks which were worn out in 12 months.

    Hi,

I have had a set of ikons on my FXDL for over two years now, was happy with them until today, I went to adjust the spring preload  as heading across the nullabour this week, when my left shock just gave  way, after snapping the Metal bit that locks into the cam plate adjuster to increase spring tension,It  just sheared of and flew out like a bullet.

Now the spring has no tension whatsoever & have to get a tow truck to take it to HD for some progressive shocks( 412)

I was pretty rapped with them till that, This is the third pair of icons i have had(Different Bikes) but that really blew me away, what happened today, as would of been pretty bad if humming along out the middle of nowhere.

As for ride i think they are a lot better than Harley shocks, But am not so sure comparing them to others though..

    Cheers

The fournales are great but the bike is just too friggin tall.
I'm 5'3" & it just looks plain wrong to be on tour toes on a Harley.
I like the lowered look & did have lowering blocks on with the fournales until a particularly rough road bent the bloody things so they came straight off.
Was also thinking of 412 progressives. They don't look as good but i can get them locally at a real good price.
The main reason i was looking at the 430's was the cut outs in the caps almost match my Avon grips & pegs. Woulda looked cool.
Ah well, more looking & thinking.

as my name says , i'm a big fella ,ahh 190 kgs plus and i have a 06 FXDC with a set of 412's progressives on it and have done about 2000k's on our shitty nth qld roads with no problems , ihave themset on the hardest setting and only bottom out on real big potholes . i also have a vt1100 ace with ikon shocks with heavy duty springs and their are fine too .. the ikons are rebuildable , i think the progressives are too but not sure ..
