In todays Telegraph. Seems the cops are admitting its purely revenue raising and doing nothing to stop speeding or save lives.
"The police union said speed cameras were not the answer to road safety."
"Sending someone a ticket in the mail three weeks later is not going to prevent speeding. Only a highly skilled highway patrol officer can crack down on speeding - as well as other dangerous behaviours such as reckless driving and drink-driving."
Yep its all for revenue, nothing we didn't already know. But I guess its nice to see it in black and white.
Also its not going to change anything, they will still use cameras and fine you, they would be lost without the money now.
But one thing I believe is that all the money raised from road infringement fines should be put back into the roads.
