and a bloke i KNOW works for Team Moto, was errrrr, on loan to Wackers for a day or 2 as a salesman. the deal is done, the signatures are dry. the are one and the same.

Good news and Bad news... Wackers HAS been sold... but not to team moto...... my source can't remember the name of the new owners... Personally I am VERY disappointed that they sold... but since I am no longer associated with them, it really wont make much difference...

 

rumour has it that the same company that owns team moto has bought Wackers, i think it is afinance or insurance company. i believe they also own shares in Rebel Sport and are connected with V8 supercars. could be wrong but thats the industry goss.

after I posted my last comment, my source said he didn't hear the name of the company that has bought them, so it is possible it is Archer International.. they are the owners of v8 supercars, team moto and possibly half the planet... I am honestly quite disgusted that they sold. They point blank lied to people about it, and clearly have no loyalty to their own heritage.

I heard that last March... the problem is they promised us the store hadn't been sold.. "It hasn't been sold and it isn't for sale"... and "as long as my arse points to the ground, Morgan and Wackers won't be sold"

 

Well, 'last March' was 12 months ago... They say 'everything has its price' so maybe the deal was too good ta pass up?

 

last march was when I first heard the rumour... 1 month ago, they were still promising they hadn't sold, and weren't going to sell (despite the fact they were doing repairs to guttering etc - ie the things you need to do when you sell a building... I was hoping they were relocating)

 

It's difficult for them too, paticularly if you straight out asked and they straight out lied. Not everyone can do that. Politicians have the avoidance thing down pat - they give an answer but not an answer to the direct question.

These deals are done on a 'need ta know' basis so maybe only a coupla people were aware of the true situation?

Main road exposure is a good thing for a business like theirs. And I understand the current site gets flooded when Brekkie Creek breaks its banks.

 

This rumour is now correct. Brisbane will not be moving. Gold Coast and Brisbane have been bought out.
Upgrades to the shop front will commence shortly.
