Just a caution on this, I have long been an ardent user of Metzler Marathons on my Heriglide but the last rear tyre I put on has feathered badly with only about 8000 klms on it and I usually get about 20,000 out of them. Since they are now being made in Brazil, I understand the compound is different. Also, a neighbour who rides a Suzuki 109 had his front Metzler fracture on both sidewalls on his front tyre. My bike is getting an Avon this week, no more Metzlers for me.

my mate has a lasertec on front wheel of his fxst and it has done about 6000klm's on it so far his hoping to at least get another 2000 out of it , he has been pretty much happy with it and he rides hard , sying that he prefers the marathon more . I think they are a bit cheaper aswell (lasertec ) .

I have used both lasertec & marathon front & back. I won't use marathons again,I prefer lasertec front & back
