hi guys this is my first post so i hope ive put it into the right section

ive had a read of a post on the forum about rake & trail and how it alters the way the bike handles.

so in relation to HD shovelhead powered bikes what makes the rake different between say a FLH, FXWG, FXE.  Is it the 'triple tree' component or  is it the neck on the frame, which actaully gives a different rake angle?

now im planning to build a shovelhead rigid bike.  i havent bought a donor bike as of yet, but id like to use a narrow glide front end with 21" wheel. is that something i could achieve with either fo the shovelhead frame platforms?

Some shovel (and probably earlier Pans etc) FLH models were bought out stock with adjustable raked triple trees for sidecar use. Fairly modest rake however noticable enough.

thanks guys, im not too keen on having lots of rake. just wanting to keep it factory! I think i worded my question poorly.

Was wanting to know what made the FXWG rake 'bigger' compared to and 'FLH'
Ive been doing a bit more reading; and to my understanding the shovelhead era frames have a frame neck rake of 30deg. And the wideglide gets the additional rake in the triple trees! I think 2degrees more than the FLH
