I have a standard 2011 Fat Bob with Rush Slip ons and Xied, it pops on decel. I have just spoken with my local Harley dealer and he said at my next service he will try one of serveral different Factory tunes he has for FREE!!! to see if it will fix it. Has anyone heard of these and are they effective?

All it means is that they will upload another map that may or may not fix the popping issue. All the decel pop is that the bike is running lean in certain areas. If they are free then no worries. Your bike may suffer in other areas after uploading the maps though. It all depends on which map he uses etc....

im also wanting to fit a stage 1 air cleaner kit on my 2010 softail std it already has slip on mufflers now on the parts list its states after fitting this unit the air cleaner, the bike will need recalibrating, what exactly will need recalibrating my wallet?
because when i rang the dealer about this they said i will need a tuner as well costing another 600$ and another $200 labour to tune a fit these 2 items lmao.

Going down the same road now with a 2013 FatBob. V&H big radius standard filter at the moment.
Pops farts and carries on when changing gear and decel'.
As ususal dealer says it will get sorted at first service.......
Busted my budget getting the bike so I will be asking for the standard ECM calibration at the service to at least reduce the popping until I get the cashflow sorted out and figure out which way to go.
McCabe did you end up getting it done???

When I had the bike in for the service they said I allready had the best tune, I ended having a SERT fitted ($650). Decreased the popping by 95%, improved responsivness and improved fuel eccomomy. I have noticed no real increse in power.

I'd be looking at a Auto Tuner, Just Plug it in, which you can do yourself.
Instant Tune, no more Dyno's, with the added benefit, you can change engine components without booking in for another Dyno.
Plus you save thousands on tuning..........
