Gooday all-my brother recently bought a 2005 Softail Springer- he is appaled by the performance of the front brake and reckons its a accident waiting to happen-any suggestions of better pads/lines or whatever to help him?

Fit a braided brake line will improve brake performance.

Indeed the stock springer front brake is ordinary. I have gone with HD floating disk, PM 4 spot caliper and HD braided line. Very much improved feel and stopping power, but obviously not as good as twin disc braking, so you still need reliance on your rear and good technique.
    Go the springers!!!

I have a 2005 Deluxe. I changed the pads to Lyndalls, replaced the fluid and a new braided line. Big difference in stopping power,
