OK... it's official!!!! Moving to from one police state (SA) to another (Vic) next month for work. Have heaps of questions tht no doubt people like Wozza and Walka can help answer.
1. What do I need to do to the bike to change the rego from WA to Vic? The key changes have been:
a) air cleaner.... can I just put the oval cover back on?
b) pipes.... the current V&H 2-1 are only really noisy when I crank the throttle, but I'm guessing I will need to put the original pipes back... do I need to fit the flapper valve control back on the bike as well?
c) rego plate.... my plate is curved and layed back to align with contour of the guard.... is this acceptable?
2. As I will need to put the original pipes on the bike, it is time tomodify the O2 sensor bungs on the V&H pipes in a similar was to what Hilly did, I also need to have the pipe ceramic coated as it's finish is crap. The new finish should then fit well as I'm going to fit now available heat shields instead of the exhaust wrap.
a) where can I go to get new O2 bungs manufacturered and welded to the headers?
b) where is the best place to go to have the pipes ceramic coated... needs to be done properly because of the heat?
3. Whilst the bike is getting a part makover, I would like to dothe rims too as the spokes are slowly getting worse.
a) I can buy new stainless spokes from Rollies, but is there anywhere in Melbourne that can supply and re-lace?
b) where can I get the rims powdercoated.... needs to have the chrome removed first to be done properly?
The pic below gives an indication of the angle of the plate.....
Thanks in advance guys...........
PM sent..
thanks Oz...... and PM received thanks Wozza.....
thanks Dan... Train looks good with those wheels... I'll talk with Walka.
Was looking at the heat shields to dissipate some heat. They were not originally available when I purchased the pipes and even now are sold seperately. I like the wrap, but looses colour quickly and have to replace every 12-18 months so becomes expensive. Have to have a re-think.
When moving to Vic you DONT need a roadworthy as long as it is registered in your name in SA. Because you are not changing owners you are just changing states. They will want proof of ownership, a current licence, rego number, engine and vin numbers . I do Motor bike RWC's ( Vic Roads 1800 816 727 ) or Vic roads Website ( Interstate vehicle registration) it tells you what you need.. Easy done....HPC powder coaters in Leongatha will do all your ceramic heat resistant coatings talk to Chris 0356 624338 and next to them they do standard powder coating...Hope that helps
