    Let those who ride decide

It would more cost effective to turn the cameras around so that as a policy vicroads only had rear facing cameras its an easy fix but of course that would not inconvenience the motorcycle riders.

Hi Vis vests and 5 articles of ADR clothing.

It's a proven fact like compulsory headlights that after.a while if everyone was wearing them the brain will tune out. So what's the point? Well if we did not have to wear them it would not inconvenience the motorcycle rider.

I don't believe there is in place safety standards let alone ADR rules for motorcycle clothing other than crash helmets and even then the current system of a federal standard interpreted and administered by individual state road departments makes the helmet laws a joke.
    Why have them we ask?
    Because it would inconvenience us.
You may say I am cynical but the nanny state is trying hard to prove they are achieving something. Reducing the number of motorcycle riders would statistically reduce road accident statistics.

The questions that need to be asked are
Over given periods. Say 1 year 5 years 10 years 15 years and 20 years. How many motorcycle riders were licensed to ride in Victoria? How many road deaths were there in those same time frames as a percentage of road users and how many injuries as a percentage.

I am fairly certain that simple question would prove that with the advances in technology braking systems and tyres these percentages would show a downward trend.
I am also sure that vicroads would fight hard not to release that simple price of information.

Secondly. At the protest ride it became apparent we are as motorcyclists lumped together as vulnerable road users along with cyclists and pedestrians. Why therefore is it that only the motorcyclists has been singled out for the hi Vis vest requirement.

The problem guys is this. The bureaucrats are making these calls and we as a road user group are not letting our maps and representatives know how unhappy we are with this. I would urge you all to write to your state and federal mp. Tell them how much this is upsetting you and how it's based on spin not fact. The report recommending this goes to state parliament next week. If its not stopped it will become law. Take 5 mins of your time and write to mp now before its too late.

I think many were in the same boat rodders , where did you find that one careyman ?
Had i seen it i would have went , thanks for posting it man , but one thing i can`t understand , unless i missed it , is why wasn`t this add posted or advertised elsewhere earlier by someone involved in the organising of it in each state , havn`t heard or seen of it anywhere but here and now after the fact , sad to think such an important issue afecting us all , not being covered or given more air by radio and tv , havn`t even seen it in any of the local mags , did anyone see it advertised prior to the 2nd , or is there word on anymore such protest rides in Sydney at all that anyone knows of ?
Didn`t see it on the news or anything ?
    Did anyone here go ?

I didn't see the mentioned protest Ad nor did I hear about it otherwise I would of attended. Hi-Viz vests do not stop some pissed idiot or drug affected drivers crashing into you! Are they going to make push bike riders wear them as well, what about kids riding their skate boards or the older generation who ride this mobility scooters...will they all have to wear Hi-viz vests????? Maybe we will eventually have to wear them whilst walking along a footpath to cross at the traffic lights!! Where does this stupidity end?!?!
