I have been looking for a good air horn.  Don't want a high pitched one.  What one do you use?
I like the look of the howard horns but they seem to have lots of problems with brackets breaking.

    Hi Crusty,
Thanks for the suggestion and putting videos in too.  I had not given them much thought before but they dont sound too bad.

Updated: I really wanted to buy the authentic air horn from meisterindustries.com/homepage.html shown below.  From their website the product looks very well designed with a lot of effort going into a quality product.  At the time I enquired I had a bit of difficulty getting a quote from the Harley distributors on his site but Tom Meister, the manufacturer was a true gentleman to deal with.
Hopefully we will see them available from M&M Cycles real soon.

I am also considering a few different air horns below from Metal Arts. www.metalartsinc.com/motorcycle%20air%20horns/accesories.htm

Updated: This is the one I ended up ordering.

     Hi Sprocket,

Have just recently purchased and fitted the Pro Pad Minibeast 2 Chrome. The same one in the first vid that Crusty posted.

There is another vid on youtube that has a before and after vid of the factory cowbell and the Minibeast 2 so you can compare the sound level.

Am very happy with the end result.

    Hesh,
They look very good.  I ended up up ordering a metal arts compact magnum air horn yesterday.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

I took a couple of old electric horns out of my F'er, made a bracket to carry them, then added a relay tucked in behind and bolted them straight on, (after a lot of elbow grease, (bloody alloy)) a mate said that the sound reminded him of a freight train. They are not THAT loud, but they do make people jump. I blasted one guy who pulled out on me then braked hard, his face when his head spun was one of shock, expecting to see a truck or something, it was more satisfying than a mouth full of abuse.DSCF0885.jpg

It's Ok if you live in QLD as the Qld Transport & Main Roads dept states the following in the Vehicle Safety Standards:

    Motorcycles

Note (3):   Dual air or electrical horns are acceptable but must be of a single note.

So no Dukes of Hazzard style stuff

I have a pair of the old Mini Beasts which are really just Stebel Nautilus air horns and they work very very well.  I reckon I've casued a couple of heart attacks to some drivers, but they deserved it.

Got the bike back from the dealers today after they fitted the metalarts compact magnum air horn, handlebars and auxillary lights.

    Crikey it's loud.
