I am after some advice from those who have fitted risers to their bike; I am currently looking at fitting the Harley Curved Riser to my 2010 Fatboy. I want to use the standard handlebars There are 2 different sizes, (4" P/N 56269-09), or (6" P/N 56267-09) If anyone has fitted these can you help me out, please, what want to know is how much different do these risers make compared to the standard position. Also will I have to fit extended cables, brake hose and wiring to either of these risers? Cheers

I put a set of the deluxe risers on my fatty to try and they definately pulled the handlebars back, but also gave me a pain between the shoulders, because all it did was pushed my shoulders and back, back. They are sitting in the cupboard again now, but I am just about to try a set of Ventura handlebars. I have since read where this has also happened to others. I think the deluxe risers are 4.5" and my cables still fitted, but I wouldn't trust they would fit 6", but mines an 03. Google Wild 1 handlebars have a look at the lot, Rollies has them, which is close to you and they are good to deal with. Also look at Kenma australia for the Ventura bars, Carlini make some good ones and also if you can find a list of Drag Specialties Buffalo bars. Drag Spec and Carlini's also make 11/2" bars, as do Burleigh Bars, who also make 13/4", there's are stainless bars, and look shit hot but expensive. I do know of people who have gone to Burleigh Bars and they have tried different styles to suit. I would go Burleigh but I am spending too much on my motor at the moment, but will probably try them next year. You may have to try and try again with bar changes. Try finding other bikes similar with different handlebars and have a sit on them. Your style of set will also make a difference, do you sit right back on that seat with your ass almost on the sissy seat, it may also be worth trying a different seat, to get a different riding position. Good Luck decifering this crap
Noticed your saying you want to use the standard handle bars...
One tip I got was to sit on the bike and have a mate hold it up straight so you can put feet on floor boards.
Once doing so, close your eyes and put your hands out as if you are grabbing the grips in the position that feels most comfortable for you, open your eyes and see how far off you are from the stock position. This will give you and idea of whether or not the risers will work.
Just curious as to why you are adamant about keeping stock bars? It just isn't that much work to change them out unless you want to wire internally...
I've put the 4" on my Fatty. Just enough. Sat me up nicely without having to reach any more slumped over. (sore lower back) I'm 5'7 on the old scale. I didn't have to change any of the cables and lines. Straight swap.
6" risers look shit IMHO.

Plenty of room away from the speedo. Didn't notice any diff to tell you the truth. I've got the bike in bits at the mo so when I get her back together I'll post a pic.
I think you'll be surprised how a little change can make a big difference.
