O.K. guys , heres the first of many dumb questions

 My bike has no speedo or indicators, all thats on it is a high beam light . Obviously I will need speedo and indicators at least for rego and have been looking on Ebay for these bits.

 The bike is an '87 model FXR , I assume they are a cable drive setup, it seems the later model bikes are electronically driven from the gearbox? Can I use a later model setup or will the gearbox not have the bits required to run one? It appears you can buy a front wheel mounted speed sender for an electronic speedo , would that be the go? or am I better off with this
