Hi there all my learned friends. My 2010 fatboy has a droning (moaning type) noise when I lean into left or right handers backing off or under power which seemds to be when I am above 60kph in and above 2nd gear . Does not have this sound when vertical. I have had the front wheel bearings replaced as they were starting to fail with the cheap Indian one's Harley use.My mechanic tells me brake pads can make this annoying sound. Has anyone else experienced this or heard of the same problem. In case you are wondering I am not a fat bastard myself so my weight isn't doin it. Open to sensible feedback. Cheers

Had the same type of thing depended alot on what road service it was. If your still running the standard rear tyre thats the culprit all quiet after fitting night dragon.

Thanks all. Its definately not helmet or body turbulance. Due for a tyre change so will try the Night Dragon this weekend. Rodders I am one of the lucky ones as my Mrs doesn't get on the back yah whoooo. Free to ride without any nagging. I do however run a wimmer spike air cleaner so may have to look at that. Will post a shot of the fat soon so stay tuned.

My 2010 Super Glide Custom has the same noise.

Had all the front end checked and no problems.

I blame the Michelin Scorcher tyres.

Finally some resolve. Changed the rear tyre and found the bearings were on the way out. Slightly pitted. Shit indian bearings harley use as stock parts in new bikes. Anyone with the same annoying noise may want to inspect yours before the spacer starts chewing the outer seal away and then the cage, but it should start to wobble when that happens. Can now ride without wondering if something is going to seize and throw me off. Many thanks for the suggestions previously.

Thanks for the update Inkman. I have only covered 2000km with my FXST and I am finding the humming noise from the rear wheel is getting worse. I took the rear brake caliper off last night and ran the bike on the bike stand to see if the noise would have been caused by the pads. Well the noise is still there so I think it time to get it back to the dealer for some warranty work.
