Timing Question.

    G'day everyone, a mate of mine owns a 98 EVO Ultra Standard, the motor has a EV27 cam and adjustable pushrods, but here is the question to get the motor to run smoothly he always has to have the timing well advanced from the timing mark any ideas why this would have to happen cheers.

    Which timing mark is he using as there are 3 depending on the model year. There is a TDC Mark and 2 advanced marks on the flywheel One is 35 degrees and the other is the 20 degree advanced mark which he should be using. I can't post a sketch of the marks from work as I'm locked out from doing so.
