Ozroder, the EZ start cams decompression trigger will not retract until the engine is turning around 750 - 800 rpm's-- as in an engine start event. The exhaust valve lifts 0.030 when the lifter rolls over the decompression trigger built into the cam in order to bleed off a little compression, so I don't think they will ever build full compression unless the motor is running and the decompression trigger has retracted. This 'technology' has been around for a long time and used successfully but I don't think it's possible to do a comp test with them, but I hope I'm wrong....

I'm running a pair of 551 EZ starts in my 09 96" BargeGlide and they feel good. The start is very EZ-- no kickback, strain on the starter or compensator at all and plenty of roll on power. Not the 'best' cams out there but I'm happy with them.
