Harley Premium Touring Shocks - BIG THUMBS UP

    Decided that the standard air shocks had to go on the 09 BargeGlide after the 300th rocket launch off the seat after hitting a simple bump. These are absolute crap shocks and a hassle to carry an air pump each time an adjustment is needed.

    I tried many different air settings to try to get them ‘just right’ over a period of 2 years with no luck. I researched aftermarket shocks and decided they were too much $$ overall with mixed results so I took a punt on the HD Premium Touring Shocks (through Luke) in the standard 13” length for the Ultra.

    These shocks are simple gas and oil emulsion with one shock acting as the damper and the other as the rebound control. There are a number of click settings to set the damping rate on the left shock (depending on the total weight onboard), and a chart that relates to the click setting needed to provide the best ride for the all up weight.
     
    I’m very happy with these as the ride is much improved overall with no bottoming out or getting launched off the seat in rebound. Solo with a general load in the panniers and with the TourPak removed the adjustment is set to 2 and is just right.
    I’d buy these again for sure. They are not the ultimate shocks, but are very good and a BIG improvement over the stock air shocks.
