Why would you be calling HD Aus? Shouldn't "Mark" be doing the calling?

In my experience HD salesmen are great at the selling part - lousy at the after sale service - this doesn't seem any different.

He can read , , they would get memo's , they also get commision on whats sold you ... Can guarantee , if they took him off the Harley section and shoved him in the Susuki section he would soon change his attitude and care about his customers more

I dont understand if you buy a second hand bike from Peter Stevens, HD Aust would Warranty it as HD Aust and Peter Stevens are 2 difrent Companys.
Peter Stevens dont buy Second Hand Bikes from HD Aust only New Bikes.. If peter Stevens was Offering the Warranty on there Bikes it would make sence.

im with you scouser, if the advert (and i have not seen it myself but i will buy it tommorrow) does not exclude any form of import (they are all from america any way) then i would have thought they would have been legaly obilged to go along with the advertisement (and i bet that all dealers would have paid some percentage for the promotion). will be great to hear your comments tommorrow after you have spoken to the likes of Luke. im always looking at bikes advertised down that way too due to the range they carry (plus knowing you have to ride 1500k to get home too).

Looks like Peter Stevens Adelaide have made another freind ,,,, Problem is they don't have any competition , at least in Melbourne they compete with each other ... It cost you money to get your extended warranty , the right thing for P.S. in Adelaide to do is bring you in and sort it . But i doubt they will ,, Your customer loyalty is'nt worth that much to them , simply because they know if your a Harley buyer , you are part of there captive market

I'm with you Scouser, from what you have stated HD Aust have advertised all pre-owned bikes come with a 12 month warrenty. The pre-owned bike was purchased from a HD Aust authorised dealer. Where it came from is irrelevant, if HD Aust advertised a promotion for all used Harley's then the authorised dealers must honour it. End of story!

I would like to see Peter Stevens try and argue this one with consumer affairs!

    that's good news, Scouser.
As it happens, I took mine in for a service yesterday and they pointed out an oil leak around the gear shifter shaft. Quoted around $500.00...

I'll have to point them to this thread and see if they'll cover it <img src=" src="/DesktopModules/NTForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif" />

Good one Scouser - the wording is everything.

I'm currently in a bun fight with the Qld Motoway people (the toll collectors) coz I paid a big fine on their verbal say so - and now with new info to hand I want my money re-imbursed.

To cut the story short I'm fined coz I took three months to notify them my rego number had changed. I paid the fine following my 'but why?" phone call. They reckoned I had three days to alert them and coz I didn't notify soon enough I'm being fined for their extensive efforts in locating me...

Anyhoos, I've since discovered the wording in our 'agreement' says I must notify them 'as soon as possible'. My argument is that 'as soon as possible' is not a defined time frame and my three months delay is perfectly acceptable as that was when I got around to it.

They're stone walling by saying my payment of the fine is 'an admission of liability'. Pigs arse - I don't f*ckin' think so!!

So yeah, their wording is not specific and I'm determined to get my $108.00 back. As did you!
