Compared to stock, anything will be loud. My wife liked my bike until I changed to SE slip ons, now it's to loud. Pity it's mine and I don't care!! She can make all the noise she wants on her CT110!!

Hey Steamer! I have the tapered SE slip ons fitted to my '08 sporty - (got them a while ago though). They are the same as the stock design and are called Screamin Eagle Slip-fit Pro Torque Mufflers (P/No for sporty - 80051-00) They are used with the standard crossover pipe (to maintain low down power). I am not sure if they will fit the current sporties though!!! I had to use spacers between the muffler and the mounting bracket to fit them - no big deal, just a bit of the old noodle work!!

Lucifer, I had the same issue. I like the tapered look of the stock mufflers (2010 Iron) but wanted a better note, and not too loud. After looking around and finding that S&S make the best looking tapered slip ons, I figured why spend all that money to get something that looks like stock? Obvious answer is, modify the stock mufflers. I just drilled out the end of the stock baffle with a 14mm hole. Sounds great, not too loud, better breathing, and cheap as! Damon on here has a how to thread if you look it up. I also got a cheap set of unmolested stock slip ons to keep in case I get pinged for the modified ones, but so far no cop has looked twice, so all good. TC

Ive got the Screamin Eagle pipes.. Theyre ok, add a nice note but not obnoxiously loud.. If you ask the the guys at Peter Stevens nicely you can get them (well I did 6 months ago) for $360 odd.

Extra performance? dunno.. sound better? yes, look better? I think so (but I went with the shorty side slash).

They look sort of stockish (which I like), but still a little different, they are borderline road legal (theyre NOT, but you're not as likely to get pinged as something obnoxious like some of the V&H stuff).

i was going through the same delema not long ago.....turbo tappers or straight shots.   found a new set of straight shots for $250.00 landed to Rocky so i went with that.  i found the standard baffles too loud (even when riding) so purchased the quiet baffles (didnt like the sound) so took the matting off them and now i like them.....yes they are still on the loud side.
