First Service - Stealers or ?

     Hi Everyone,

My Fatboy Lo is quickly approaching 1600km so I'm looking at booking in first service. Do I need to take it to a dealer for warranty purposes or can any registered mechanic do the work without it upsetting warranty? If so, can I get some recommendations for servicing in the blacktown/western sydney area? I don't mind going across town to someone if it's worth it.

    Thanks for the help.

I would think that your first service should be done by the dealer that sold ya the bike, unless they are too far away...

Not sure about your heading though!!! Hasn't taken you long to brand ya dealer a stealer!!!

Yeah Blacktown dealer is my local.

It's been 2 months since I took delivery and I'm still waiting on the quick release bracket for saddle bags that was supposed to be on the bike already (which I've paid for) dozens of phone calls and I get the impression nothing has happened on it since the last call (today) was 'bring the bike in, not sure if you can get a bracket that fits those bags'. Gotta say I'm a bit more than pissed off since these are the bags they suggested and assured me came with quick release fittings...

Try P & L, 2/200 TOONGABBIE ROAD, Toongabbie (02) 9636 9955. I have used them for years and can recommend them.

nail in the coffin for the dealer, after 2 months of chasing them up about the quick release saddle bag bracket, now i might not be able to get one for these bags, fucker didn't even offer an apology. Claims any change will come out of my pocket since i paid for the parts numbers, even though thats not what i wanted. Fuck, next time i order anything i'll be looking up each part number myself to make sure its what i ask for. Definatley won't trust them to service the bike if they can't get a simple order right from the outset.

    I'll give P & L a call, thanks imoo.

I agree with JD.  Blacktown HD are all right.

Mac, have you taken your issue up with the Business Prinicpal (Daniel)?

If not then I suggest you ask to see him and explain your dilema.

I knonw there has been some staff changes behind the parts counter over the last 5 - 6 weeks.
