Fuelshot GenIII Installed

    Hi Steve,

yes you can try to open up number 4 one increment.

As for the slow cranking, the unit is not like the PC3 as the PC3 gets its power from the Fuel pump. The fuel pump only turns on once the bike has fired as it pressurises the fuel system in the setup cycle. Once the fuel pump gets power, then the PC3 kicks in. This can be overcome with PC3s by cranking the engine while the bike is goingthrough its checks.

The FuelShot gets its power from the Fuel injector circuit. On from the get go. The FuelShot also has a pass through function for the first 5-7 seconds of power up. This means, that while unit is going through its diagnostic self checks, ( the leds scanning from left to right) the ECM signals are going stright through to the injectors as if the FuelShot didnt exist.
It would be interesting to see the implications of the weather etc.

As for the Fuel Light......not sure as you have not touched this circuit. Suggest filling the tank to ensure the float is going up to where it should. Then keep an eye on where it is kicking in again. What was your fuel gauge saying?

    regards

    Mick

    Hi Whitey,

for this to happen are you turning the ignition on and cranking straight away or letting the engine light turn off? The bike goes through its diagnostics as does the FuelShot. This should be allowed to happen as the ECM is checking the status of sensors etc before cranking.

While the FuelShot is going through its diagnostics, all signals just pass through it so it should not be affecting the  start up.

    Does this occur often?

Suggest checking plugs to see how the bike is running also.

    Kind regards

    Mick

It happens after the engine light goes off. 9/10 it will start fine cold but happens everytime when hot. Checked the plugs, they look normal. gave em a clean, no change.
thought it may have something to do with battery, put it on the trickle charger for a couple days, no change.

    G'day all,

Picked up an 07 Softail Custom not long ago - has V&H bigshots and the usual hi flow air.

Heaps of decel popping that I need to fix and for ease of use (don't want to plug into computers, don't want to learn the ins and outs of that EFI gobbledegook) thought this Fuelshot might be the go.

What exactly is involved in the install?

    Cheers

    Hi Dodge,
    pretty simple really.

    Disconnect Battery
Raise the tank a little, ( no need to take it off but make sure you disconnect the fuel line).
    Disconnect the fuel injectors
Connect the Fuelshot to the Harness and the injectors.
Run the FuelShot harness down the backbone in the existing cable duct.
Connect the earth and reconnect your battery.
Put seat and tank back in place.
    Go out riding.

The unit comes with easy to follow instructions also.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Cheers
