IAC Trouble

    Hello guys

I'm facing an IAC problem on this bike and hope there will be experts here who could help me finding a solution.

The bike is a 2007 110 CVO Roadking, with Wood 555 cams, ported heads and a 58mm throttle body with cable command (no DBW), with 30 000km on the clock.

The trouble is that IAC sometimes falls slowly to 0, generally when engine speed is increased around 1500-2000rpm or when it's at idle.
It then throw a P0505 code (loss of idle speed control) and often stall.
When riding, increasing throttle is harsh and very difficult to do slowly.

I can send some Datamaster recordings to anyone that ask for

The Iac motor doesn't seems to be faulty, we changed it for a new one with no effect.
We tried to change the IAC steps values in map without any change

Does anybody have an idea to cure this ?

That is a fairly common problem on your model year. The issue is the set screw that holds the throttle blade open a small amount to start with has come loose. With the bike at normal operating temperatures you should see about 30 - 40 on the IAC steps. If you adjust the screw to get this, then apply a small amount of loctite to hold the screw set it should solve your problem.

The screw will need a Security 5 star torx T15 or HD tool HD-49827 or if you can find a metric nut M6 x75. The nut can be screwed on with high strength lock tight and than use a spaner from behind the aircleaner. Done this last week.

    Thank's for the input, OzGlide

    Another question about this one...

There are no base map for this combo, the closest match is the EQF176-003 but it doesn't use the 58mm Throttle body...

The only one that's using the 58mm TB is the EUK205-003, but the ECM doesn't accept it for programming (sadly too old...)

We started with EQF as base map, but I'm wondering if I should use the IAC values from the EUK, as they are different ?

Did the mod on the throttle blade screw this morning, it surely was loose, but this didn't cure the IAC trouble....

Finally, it happens to be a faulty TPS sensor, exchange it and the IAC is now staying between 28 and 40 steps...

We'll try some recordings of the TPS with the Datamaster and compare with visual control of the blade to find where the bug is.

Any idea for the IAC tables to use with this combo ?
