I miscalculated the 2nd compression ring gap on a build I am working on. It should be 0.022" but instead I cut them at 0.025" for a 98". Do any of you guys think that it will still work or would there be repercussions. Maybe I need to start again, what do you tech gurus reckon.
Pistons are Wiseco, cut top rings to 0.018” – 0.02” & oil rails I left as they were above 0.010” but well below 0.050”
I use the 0.004" gap per inch of bore so 3 1/2" bore the gap would be 0.014', but i`ve never worked on anything newer than a shovel. If your rings are out of spec start again, you know you`ll regret it later and it will haunt you.
