hi everyone just wanting to know pros and cons of bb kit from those that have done the job on 2010- 2011 irons and regarding tts will it just use 1200 map ???? all help will be much app. thx
Hi guys, As Punjab mentioned, I'm running the 1250cc NRHS bb kit and Andrews N4 cams. Sounds like 006 and I are running very similar set ups, original heads and SERT for tuning. I highly recommend the upgrade, particularly because the the NRHS products are 'reportedly' much better quality than SE kit, its cheaper than the SE kit and has a marginally larger bore. IMO I haven't found a con! The bike now goes like stink, is extremely torquey and I haven't made any other changes apart from the ones mentioned above. I was planning on doing more, however after riding it around for the past few months and looking at the extra benefit vs. total cost of new heads, new clutch, push rods........blah blah blah it equates to about 15-20hp (so I have been told) and a shit load more than in $$$$ (I estimated to build a 110hp + Sportser, I would need to invest around an additional $4k, fitted and tuned) and I cant justify it to the boss!! I did read a shit load of threads, commentary and spent considerable time emailing Dan from NRHS before I made the choice and I am extremely happy with the conversion. Some of the info indicated that the bike would run hotter, however I have no true way of measuring this and speaking strictly from a riding perspective, I have noticed any changes in temperature. It does use a little more fuel, although that could have something to do with the way I ride it With regard to putting it on a dyno, haven't bothered with that at this stage either but that is because I am building a house and my money is being invested elsewhere. The guy who built my bike has a long history racing, building and improving Sportsters and said it is something that I dont need to do in a hurry and get to it when you can. The only stand out issue with making the changes to your engine is that you will automatically void your warranty, however when you start changing barrels, pistons and cams..............the last thing you need to worry about is warranty.
Given the choice to do it again, I would have done it from day one!
