    Hi Fellas.

I've got the screaming eagle aircleaner on and I'm thinking of going to an S&S teardrop.

As far as breathing and performance is there a big difference between the two.

    Cheers

You got any info on these. How they perform etc.

Is that a velocity stack .... someone was saying that they are more suited for racing, not everday riding and rain etc .... not sure mate

They Perform great, They are the only Velocity Stack on the Market that have a true Filter. they have a Stainless Steel & Card Mesh Filter and not realy eficted with rain

Cheers Hilly, yeah mate its performance that im looking at.

I'm going with a 2 into 1 pipie and was trying to find out about a good performing air cleaner. I'm running the SE at the moment but heard good things about the S&S and wanted to know if there was a big difference in the two

Another option is to order a K&N filter to suit your SE backing plate. Don't forget to get the recharger service kit. You probably won't get a much free-er breathing air filter and it will be the last one you'll need (unless you change models)

Either one would be ok, if your not drag racing the bike it shouldn't matter if you gain or or loose a few horsepower.

Most filters are just for looks anyway.

S&S will not Bolt on to a EFI Bike, The Best Aircleaner for all out Performance is a Mo Flow  $350.00 each

Yes the Beather dose go back in to the Carb, It has to by law,
How did you Mount the S&S the Engine Hilly ? I know the Bolt on to the Throttle Body or CV Carb, but what about the Engine? did you have to make a Bracket ?

Is the S & S Air Cleaner Elemet the same with the High Flow Swerler

The S&S teardrop cover has always had that swerler, pretty much exactly the same shape as the Moflo. Only difference is the Moflo has it built into the plastic filter whereas the S&S has it built into the metal cover.

I guess the other main diffrence is that the Mo-Flow draws Cold Air from the Front and the S&S is Warm Air from around the Back

I LIKE THE s&s with desparado filter they add some HP & improve the Torque. but i'm not testing it in rain like that Hilly! but a mate tested one out in the worst dust storm we saw in Sydney few years back but he was in Broken Hill were the dust storm started at, Sydney was red for a day, can only imagine Broken Hill. but desparado filtered that dust out. if they get wet they restrict the flow a bit but bit of water spray in chamber gets carbon out.

another thing i like about S&S is the cover has a dirrectional cone built in to metal cover

I have the MoFlo and yes, if you use the stock mounts it vents into the air kit. However, I blanked off the holes and use a standalone breather kit that plugs into the crank case with banjo bolts.

And yes it performs pretty damn good too.
