Can some please explain to me why my INLET Manifold spacer won't line up......I have tried everything, Except the right thing

I know there is a front and rear, But i can line up either top two bolts or the lower one's But not all four.

I have used vasoline, No good , Ive reversed them but still the same, two holes won't line up.

Im nearly at that time for marshmellows and a lighter!!!!!!!!

Well i picked the bike up today from the mechanics, Yes it starts, he tells me that the problem was 2 of the push rods are shorter than the other 2 , As im not a guru on this shit i dont know. Anyhow now the fuckin thing is blowing air out of the rear pushrod. Ring the mechanic and he tells me it can't, Well im telling u it is, Check the rear exhaust to see if it's tight, Yes it is and it's still leaking air. I'm about 2 inches from harley to victory, The TTS thats in it want take cams or head work so thats FUCKED UP, Idle is about 1800 not real good. So more $$$$ down the drain. FUCKKKKKKK

    CHEAP FLHT 4 SALE.............?

I'm not sure?   BUT.... isnt the 2 inlet rods longer than the exhaust????

I hope he has'nt put 2 long ones in the rear & 2 shorter ones in the front????  or vise versa?

adjustable rods is the way to go...   ya cant fuck them up...

If air is coming out of the pushrod tube this could be pressure buildup in the crankcase caused by blocked breather or maybe compression bypass.
As for the high idle maybe you have bent a valve (if you had the pushrods ass about) the squeal could also be compression leaking thru the bent valve.
Take the air cleaner off and check the breather. if thats clear run the bike with the air cleaner and backplate off and see if you have air still coming out
    of the pushrod tube.
Can you post what you have done yourself to the engine?

Also if you have had the rocker box off the gasket between it and the cylinder head can be installed upside down blocking the breather passage.

reading this & for the life of me i can't work it out!

makes me this people do things on the internet we can't do in real life. hope you fix it Finny.

just my thought, it is just lodgical you have two cams two lobes per cam, one lobe closer to the cases one lobe further, it is slightly further for the pushrod to get to the exhast rocker than the intake but not as bad as evo's or alternator shovels. also as the last post said, if you have air coming out the pushrod, only thing i could think of is a blocked crank case , no where for pressure to go. but i can't work out how the EFI could effect those things as it controls ignition  & fuel. but the original post was the inlet manifold?

It sounds like the cam timing is screwed up or you bent a valve with the longer push-rod causing valve to piston contact ? You need to take the bike to a dealer or a GOOD independent Harley shop.

Ok I Found the problem, Not sure how but the rear head gasket blew, Yes it was new, Today with a bottle of jack got it done. Have not started it yet can't line up the rear header......sleep tonight and back on it tomorrow. But if anything else goes wrong I'm having a bon fire.

    Thnx to all Cheers
