Some of my chrome is starting to blister on some items due to wear and salt air, is it better to get them re-chromed or buy new parts? My mirrors cost $220.00 each and both need doing in the future. Chrome isnt cheap to do. Maybe someone could recomend a cheaper quality chrome plater or organise a discount for Forum members.

About 2km away from ocean but ride along the coast all the time. 95% of the chrome is good but my mirrors which are Ness they are only 2 years old and are blistering in parts, that pisses me off! The bike is a 2000 model. The chrome regulations changed in 2004 and they can only double dip now due to EPA regulations, so i'v been told.

I like the mirrors and dont really want to change them but you are probably correct about the alloy, i never thought about that, i thought that it was a crap chrome job.

We used to have a chromer in Townsville, but he is long gone now. I'm sure you could send them to brisbane pretty cheaply, freight train rates are the best you know.

Its not the freight cost i am worried about, its the cost of getting things chromed. I got my small blinkers done through a mate, he sent them to Melbourne and that cost me $210.00. You have to get things chromed down south as there is too much humidity up this way.

Start again and buy new ones. Not worth the hassle if the oldies go to shit again
