Hey everybody
Was out on my bike on the weekend (Iron Sportster) and have noticed that I get a bit of oil leaking out of the aircleaner. I have a Joker Machine air cleaner fitted about 1,500 km ago and it has only just started.
I have done a bit of research and there seems to be problems with oil blowby with sportsters. Just wondering if anybody else has this problem and how much oil blowby is considered normal.
Cheers
It's quite common on Sporty's, I had it on my '92. I fitted a breather kit so at least the oil is kept away from the main air cleaner. Here's a good article on it:

I got the same AC as MBF. I get more blowback when cruising/freeway riding and hardly any around town. Some ppl reckon a lower oil level reduces blowback but doesn't seem to make a difference with my bike.
cheers.
Thanks Kingchops
I sent an email to Joker Machine as they stated on their webiste that they have an exclusive "Baffle Plate" crankcase breathing system and their reply was:
"You start seeing the blow by going away the more you ride"
Interesting!
I have the BenchMark head breathers, yes I see blow by.. I just learn to live with it, Its not like its dripping everywhere, just a fine oil vapour that mists on things.
