.......what the law actually says about twin headlights here in Oz? The headlights on the Fatbobs apparently can only have one side on at a time to comply to local regulations, but, I see a lot of Jappers that seem to come standard with both lights being able to be on at the same time. What gives here? I have tried to do a bit of a search but cant find anything specific and definite.

I tried to order one of the 'both on all the time' headlights for my FatBob and was told, by an Aus dealer, that they culd not supply one as they are not legal for use here.  He could not tell me if that was because they were  both on all the time or if they are not e-marked.  There would be no need for an e-mark on them if they are only used in the US.

I should heve got them before the US dealers stopped sending off shore but didn't.

from what I understand...here in NSW you can get done for driving / riding with your highbeam on due to the law regarding the dipping of the high beam when on comming traffic is a certain distance away from you vehicle......so if it's wired to be on at all times it's in breach of some ADR, so techniclyy they could book you & put your bike off the road & have to pass a roadworthy ??.... the jappers with 2 lights also have 2 more for highbeam...whereas the FXDF don't.....

But if it's what ya want....just do it....there is a detailed way to wire em up in the Dyna section...it's just one wire that needs to be cut & hooked up to another...not a big job at all......

Thanks for the input guys, I think what I'm gonna do is wire it so there is just the low beam on but when I put it to high beam they are both on. To do it this way requires the use of a relay but that's not too bad they only cost a few bucks at supercheap.
