Hey Scar,
That would be awesome mate. I'll give you a ring. I'll try to organise a day off from work. Thanks again mate
Can't wait to tackle the Buckled way for a smooth ride. HAhahaha
Hey HWG, yeah man, Scar fitted them for me. Which i am very grateful. They work in the sence they go up and down. I pumped them up and left the bike sitting for over a week, and they didn't sink down. There were 2 issues with the actual packaging. The compressor mounts between the engine and gearbox, it has 4 hook type mounting brackets that hook over the chassis rail. Well, there was only 3 brackets in the sealed plastic bag they came in. The other issue was the switch, it was suppose to be mounted onto the handle bars, (i didn't want that anyway) the switch was to fit 1" bars, my fatty has 1 1/4" bars. SOoooo, it wouldn't fit even if i wanted it to. Scar manufactured an awesome bracket and he mounted a switch behind the horn cover. Out of sight, very neat. I'm very impressed. NOW, hopefully today i'll get the bike out and take it for a test ride. I'm on call unfortunately, so i can't go to far. But the state of the roads around Gloucester are shitfull anyway, so they'll get a workout. I'll post up my review later on. I do want to thank Scar once again, i told him as a mechanic i make an awesome Chef. Thanks Scar, it's appreciated very much
Well, Mutha and i went to town on the bike today, we left home with the you beaut shocks pumped up at their highest. Anyone who's riden on our road (Woods Rd) would know it's the roughest road in the southern hemisphere. Our ride didn't start off well. I stopped at the end of the road, we got off, i dumped the air out, pumped it back up, we came out onto the Bucketts Way, what a terrible ride. Not happy at this stage, we got to town, went to the pub, watched Casey blitz it. Came home with the shock setting lower than what we rode up with. Even less happier now, we scraped at 80k's coming under the underway at Stratford. We got home, i dropped mutha off, and i went for a quick squirt on my own. At the setting i had with mutha on, it was horrible. I pulled up. pumped it right up to highest point, turned around and headed home. It was a different ride all together. It was how i thought it would be with the both of us on it. A lot of money for my comfort i s'pose. I went with these shocks thinking they would be able to carry a load. My wife and i ain't built like Twiggy and Iggy, we both carry a bit of condition, me more so. I guess i'll just shut the shed door for tonight and then worry about it tomorrow. I'm thinking Legend shocks are just the thing for cruising the highways (of California) just saying...........
Hi Robbo, mate, i'm hearing ya', you pay top dollar for a product that won't do what it's suppose to. I am gunna ring Harley Heaven tomorrow, i don't know if i have a leg to stand on. When i 1st rang them, i was chasing the Shotguns. Patrick talked me 'round to the Legend. I'm not in any way blaming him for my purchase, and i'm not in no way blaming Harley Heaven for the product. But, i did explain that our Fatty carries a fair bit of weight, i'm not built like Iggy Pop, and Paula isn't built like Twiggy. I've calmed down a bit today. I am waiting for Paula to blow her stack, she's been pretty calm about all this, i will be sleeping with one eye open (just in case) hahaha. I am gunna e-mail Legend and explain my situation, i'm not gunna get my hopes up that this will end happy. I might end up with a bench full of shocks yet, stay tuned folks, i might have a shit load of different shocks for sale, but hey, at least i'll be the one to come to for load limits. Starting with Legend Shocks, if the combined weight of rider and pillion is 100kgs, these are the shocks for you. Let me know how your progressives go Steamer, i might ge you to throw a few bags of cement on the back and do a weight test for me, hahahaha. Thanks for all the suggestions folks it's appreciated.
BWAAAAHHHHAAA, Rocker you're unreal. Hey, i got a fast reply from "Legend Shocks" today. They reckon i'm not putting enough air into them. They say the shocks are tested to 300psi before leaving the factory. And they reckon the shocks will take 800psi before exploding. I couldn't imagine wanting to put over 50psi in them, but, the bloke that e-mailed me reckons more air will improve the ride. I hope so, Paula has been extremly calm about this, which is WAY out of character. I've been doing all the cooking, just in case there's something foreign put in my meal that will kill me, to death like. I might just be paranoid, but then again, she might've turned over a new leaf and be able to just move on, ahhahahahahahha, i'm just trying to convince myself that now.
Yeah, i agree mate. A gauge might be the go. It'll be right in the long run, i hope.....................
HWG mate, i'm gunna source a gauge to fit to mine so i can see what air is being pumped into the shocks. I took it for a bigger ride solo today, and was pumping up and dumping air on the go. I found a happy medium. It travelled nicely. It would be nice to know what psi i have in them. I'll keep you posted mate.
